Zooplankton Ecology
University of South Carolina

Welcome to the Wet, Weak Ecology Laboratory at the University of South Carolina. We study how zooplankton populations are changing in response to variable environmental conditions, and the effects those changes have on carbon cycling and food web interactions.
Zooplankton are defined animals in aquatic environments that cannot effectively swim against the current, instead drifting along with the water. Thus, we study the ecology of wet, weak animals. This includes a wide range of taxa and sizes, from microscopic protists up to large jellyfish.
